A letter from Roger Knoebber to his sister Sarah Knoebber, dated 6 October 1997, with its envelope and a copy of the letter.
The first paragraph is a discussion about the hospital Roger was staying in, which shifts to an erotic tale of a fling with a nurse at L'hôpital Beaujon.
The second paragraph is about the correspondence, mentioning that he isn't interested in e-mail, and had some challenges using a word processor. He then describes a new phone which he plans to purchase when he comes into money. He recounts an incidence when Paul Bowles threw his telephone out of the window in Tangier.
Roger then writes about "island life" and the character of those who live on islands. Roger mentions his friend David Wolkowsky, near to Key West, Florida, and then digresses into memories of life in Key West.
Roger notes that he has space for a visit to Paris, and suggests a home project that Sarah can assist him with.
He then discusses the cinema, and how often he is disappointed in films that he sees. He then recounts a story of trying to make out with a woman in a cinema recently, which was unsuccessful.
Roger asks about "Miss Mink."
Roger then talks about going to a Gilbert & George retrospective at the Paris Museum of Modern Art. He recounts running into Pia Lindstrom and escorting her across the street to La Corona for something to drink.
Roger then notes that Paris is rainy at the moment, and he is busy writing for "an Amsterdam internet emmitter" [which is James Kennedy McCann's Academia Foundation].
