Literary Outlaw: The Life and Times of William S. Burroughs by Ted Morgan, as published by Henry Holt and Company (New York City) in 1988. A valued biography on William S. Burroughs.

This was Roger Knoebber's copy, given to him on Christmas 1988 by friend and former Beat Hotel (9 rue Gît-le-Cœur, Paris) resident Nick Smart. Nick was the individual that first brought Roger to the Beat Hotel in 1959. Nick wrote: "Dear Roger, / Here is an interesting life story – / I guess we weren't the only ones who look / back on 1959 at 9 Gît-le-Cœur as a / magical time & place – / Love, / Nick Smart"

This was later inscribed by William S. Burroughs to Roger as well: "For Roger / With love / and baraka / William S. Burroughs / May 22, 1989"

This copy is toned and somewhat nicotine stained, as were many of the books in Roger's care.
